10-26-2007, 07:37 PM #1 Registered User Evidence for hypercaloric diet? It's sort of the maxim--- eat more calories to gain strength/muscle. (while putting on at least some bodyfat, which is later "cut") My question----- I've never seen any actual studies on relationships between strength or lean muscle mass and hypercaloric intakes. Do they exist, or are we still at a bit more of a bro-science level here? (Not that bro-science isn't often right, by the way) From my own BB experience, over the last two years I've increased my weight from 145-160lbs, while consistently dropping bodyfat (I'm somewhere around 8%, I'd guess, down from 15-ish). So my experience baffles me.... any studies anyone can link to out there?
